Participation Guidelines

1. Festival Overview

The Festival of Smart Health Ideas, Products, and Technologies for Crisis, War, and Disaster Response is organized as a special event of the 33rd National and 11th International Iranian Conference on Biomedical Engineering (ICBME 2026). The festival aims to identify, promote, and support innovative ideas, products, and technologies in the field of smart health. It provides a platform for collaboration among researchers, universities, healthcare institutions, knowledge-based companies, industry partners, and investors, while encouraging solutions that enhance the resilience of healthcare systems during crises, wars, and disasters.

2. Festival Objectives

• Identify and showcase innovative technologies and solutions in the field of smart health.
• Support practical ideas with strong potential for further development and commercialization.
• Strengthen collaboration among universities, industry, healthcare institutions, and knowledge-based companies.
• Promote the development of effective technologies for crisis, war, and disaster management.
• Provide opportunities for participants to present their achievements to experts, investors, and industrial partners.

• Artificial Intelligence for Diagnosis, Clinical Decision Support, and Crisis Management
• Wearable Sensors and Intelligent Health Monitoring Systems
• Smart Wound Care and Burn Treatment Technologies
• Self-Powered and Infrastructure-Independent Medical Devices
• Digital Health and Remote Healthcare Solutions for Crisis Situations

4. Submission Period

August 6 – October 22, 2026

5. Participation Regulations

-Registration and Submission

• Registration and submission of entries are accepted exclusively through the ICBME 2026 Conference Submission System under the "Extended Abstract" section.
• Submissions sent by email will not be considered.
• Applicants are responsible for uploading all required information and supporting documents through the online submission system.
• The accuracy and completeness of the submitted information are the sole responsibility of the applicant.
• During the first stage, only the initial short proposal is required.
• The short proposal in the format of an extended abstract should include the following information: 
• Title of the project
• Problem statement
• Proposed solution
• Innovation and novelty
• Technology Readiness Level (TRL), if applicable
• Team members
• Potential application in crisis, war, and disaster response

Participants are required to submit a 1–5-page short proposal describing their idea, product, or technology. The proposal may be prepared in any suitable format and must be uploaded in both Microsoft Word (.docx) and PDF (.pdf) formats.

6. Festival Process

Stage 1 – Initial Proposal Submission

Submitted proposals will undergo an initial screening to verify their eligibility and completeness.

Stage 2 – Scientific and Industrial Evaluation

Eligible proposals will be evaluated based on:

• Innovation
• Potential impact
• Technical feasibility
• Technology maturity
• Applicability in crisis, war, and disaster scenarios

Following the evaluation, 10 finalist teams will be selected.

Stage 3 – Innovation Exhibition

The selected teams will present their work during the conference through posters, prototypes, or software demonstrations at the Innovation Exhibition.

Stage 4 – Final Pitch Session

Each finalist team will deliver a 5-minute presentation, followed by a 5-minute question-and-answer session before a panel consisting of academic experts, industry representatives, investors, and representatives of the Ministry of Health.
