Thesis and Dissertation Festival Submission Guidelines
Please read the following instructions carefully before submitting your documents.
1. Eligibility Criteria
The thesis or dissertation must be related to one of the fields of Biomedical Engineering.
The thesis or dissertation defense date must be after 22 August 2025.
Participation is open to graduates of Master’s (M.Sc.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs.
2. Registration and Document Submission
Registration and document submission are only accepted through the conference submission system.
Documents submitted via email will not be considered.
Applicants are required to upload all requested information and supporting documents through the system.
The applicant is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all submitted information.
3. Required Information
During registration, applicants must provide the following information:
Full thesis/dissertation title in both Persian and English
Student’s full name
Supervisor(s)
Advisor(s)
Degree level (M.Sc. or Ph.D.)
Defense date (with defense certificate)
Name of the university and faculty/school
4. Thesis/Dissertation Abstract
Applicants must submit an abstract of their thesis/dissertation in the submission system. The abstract should not exceed 300 words.
Master's Thesis (M.Sc.)
The abstract should include:
Background and problem statement
Brief literature review and identification of the research gap
Research methodology
Description of data collection methods, experiments, imaging systems, or computational algorithms
Results and validation
Quantitative results and statistical analysis
Comparison with benchmark or reference methods
Discussion, conclusions, limitations, and future directions
Doctoral Dissertation (Ph.D.)
The abstract should include:
Main research problem and research question
Description of the novelty and existing knowledge gap
Theoretical framework and research methodology
Use of advanced and/or interdisciplinary approaches
Significant and innovative findings
Scientific and practical contributions of the research
Description of the new achievements of the study
Quantitative results, validation, and statistical analysis
Discussion, conclusions, limitations, and future work
5. Required Documents
Applicants must upload the following documents:
Full thesis/dissertation PDF file
Thesis/dissertation defense certificate
6. Supporting Documents (If Available)
If applicable, applicants are encouraged to upload supporting documentation related to the following achievements:
Practical Outputs
Laboratory prototype
Software
Hardware
Mobile or web application
Device prototype
Other technological products
A brief description of the product's commercialization potential and its Technology Readiness Level (TRL) should also be provided.
Scientific Publications
DOI links to journal or conference papers derived from the thesis/dissertation
Supporting documents related to the publication of papers in reputable journals and conferences
Patents and Industrial Designs
Patent registration number or industrial research/project registration number
Copy of the registration certificate
Video File
If the thesis/dissertation has resulted in a practical output, applicants may upload:
A video file (maximum length: 3 minutes), and/or
Other relevant technical documentation
7. Evaluation Process
All submitted theses and dissertations will be evaluated by the Festival Scientific Committee.
Evaluation criteria include scientific quality, originality and innovation, research achievements, technological outputs, derived publications, patents, and the potential impact of the research.
Decisions made by the review committee are final.
8. Announcement of Results
The evaluation results will be announced during the Conference Closing Ceremony following review by the Festival Scientific Committee.
