Novin Medical Engineering Announces Technology Collaboration Call at ICBME 2026
The 33rd National and 11th International Iranian Biomedical Engineering Conference (ICBME 2026) announces a technology collaboration call supported by Novin Medical Engineering Company. Researchers, academics, postgraduate students, and technology-based companies are invited to submit proposals addressing three industrial challenges in medical equipment and rehabilitation technology. The submission deadline is November 11, 2026 (20 Aban 1405).
To strengthen university–industry collaboration and promote innovation in medical equipment and rehabilitation technologies, Novin Medical Engineering Company invites researchers, university faculty members, postgraduate students, knowledge-based companies, and technology developers to submit proposals addressing its industrial challenges. The call focuses on three main challenges: Challenge 1: Feasibility Study and Conceptual Design of an ACL/PCL Injury Assessment Device Developing a conceptual device to assess anterior and posterior cruciate ligament function through controlled force application and measurement of knee joint laxity. Challenge 2: Feasibility Study for Identifying Muscular Trigger Points and Conceptual Design of an Assessment Scanner Exploring sensor-based, imaging, and data-processing technologies to identify and visualize suspected myofascial trigger points. Challenge 3: Feasibility Study and Development of a Zirconia Ceramic Coating Process for Steel Balls Investigating coating processes to reduce friction and corrosion, improve energy efficiency, and extend service life while maintaining coating adhesion and dimensional accuracy.
Expected deliverables include a documented feasibility study, conceptual design, or proposed process guidelines, depending on the challenge. Working software prototypes or laboratory-scale samples may also be proposed as supplementary deliverables.
Support for selected proposals will include financial assistance tailored to each project’s requirements, as well as technical support, collaboration with company experts, and consideration of access to relevant facilities, subject to project needs and mutual agreement.
Proposals should include a problem definition, proposed solution, innovative aspects, implementation methodology, project timeline, estimated costs and required resources, expected outcomes, and an assessment of industrial feasibility. Submissions will be evaluated based on their relevance to industrial needs, innovation, technical and practical feasibility, implementation time and cost, and potential to create industrial value. Applicants may submit proposals addressing one or more challenges.
