Professor Liqun Xu as a Keynote Speaker at ICBME 2026
Dr. Liqun Xu, Professor at the School of Materials and Energy and Vice Dean of the Office of Scientific Research and Development at Southwest University (SWU), will join ICBME 2026 as a keynote speaker and present on “Developing wound exudate-responsive therapeutic systems for the treatment of infected wounds.”
We are honored to announce that Dr. Liqun Xu, Professor at the School of Materials and Energy and Vice Dean of the Office of Scientific Research and Development at Southwest University, will join ICBME 2026 as a keynote speaker. Dr. Xu is a distinguished researcher in the fields of surface antibacterial and antifouling modification of biomedical materials and the development of advanced antimicrobial agents. He obtained his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and has published over 120 research articles in international journals, garnering more than 5,800 citations with an H-index of 44. Since 2022, Dr. Xu has served as a Guest Editor for Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology and Coatings. The title of his keynote speech is “Developing wound exudate-responsive therapeutic systems for the treatment of infected wounds.” In this lecture, Dr. Xu will explore the potential of harnessing wound exudate—often viewed as a pathological burden—as a valuable therapeutic resource. He will introduce a novel, self-powered wound dressing that utilizes yarn-based batteries to convert exudate into electrical energy for stimulation therapy, while simultaneously leveraging salt ions within the fluid to trigger the controlled release of therapeutic agents.
