Prof. Julian R Jones to Join ICBME 2026 as a Keynote Speaker
Prof. Julian R Jones, from the Department of Materials at Imperial College London, will join the 33rd Iranian Conference on Biomedical Engineering (ICBME 2026) as a keynote speaker, presenting his talk entitled “Bioglass and Bouncy Bioglass Scaffolds for Ionic Medicine and Regenerative Medicine.
We are pleased to announce the participation of Prof. Julian R Jones, a prominent researcher in the fields of biomaterials and tissue engineering at Imperial College London, as one of the scientific speakers at ICBME 2026.
His presentation, entitled “Bioglass and Bouncy Bioglass Scaffolds for Ionic Medicine and Regenerative Medicine,” will explore the role of bioactive glasses in ionic and regenerative medicine. The talk will highlight the importance of ion release from bioactive glasses and its effects on processes such as bone stimulation and angiogenesis, as well as applications in areas including bone regeneration, osteomyelitis treatment, and diabetic wound healing.
Prof. Jones will also discuss the development of flexible bioglass scaffolds and organic–inorganic hybrids, the role of scaffold architecture and pore size in tissue regeneration, and emerging approaches to enhancing the biological activity of bioactive glasses for bone regeneration. The presentation will provide an opportunity to learn about recent developments in bioactive glasses, tissue-engineering scaffolds, and the use of therapeutic ions in regenerative medicine.Researchers, professionals, engineers, and students interested in biomaterials, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine are invited to follow this keynote presentation as part of the scientific program of ICBME 2026.
